The Saturday class is provided by the BGRA and consists of the N.R.A.'s Basic Pistol Safety Course. It is a detailed Power Point Presentation covering all the major requirements for obtaining a License to Carry in Massachusetts. This comprehensive and nationally recognized instructional course includes a detailed overview of all types of pistols and handguns, the various types of calibers and ammunition, fundamental safety concepts and all the necessary requirements for legally carrying a firearm in Massachusetts. Other topics include information regarding safety guidelines for storing, transporting and maintaining your firearm, interstate transport of firearms and a variety of other topics including armed defense, the legal ramifications of using your firearm for defense in the home and elsewhere and insights into the proper mindset and disciplines required to be a safe and legal gun owner in the Commonwealth.
The course awards you a Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety certificate that enables you to begin the process of obtaining the Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) or FID card. Students will shoot a .38 Special revolver or 9mm semi-auto pistol on our 50 ft. range and receive a live fire certificate at the end of class.
Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible for a $50 discount for future club membership

If you need your MA gun license, this is the class to take! This class is provided by Urban Firearm Society LLC. We'll walk you through the process of obtaining your license and include all of the necessary materials. Learn about Massachusetts gun laws, safe gun handling, the loading and unloading procedure of pistols, clearing semi-auto pistol malfunctions and more! Students will perform various hands-on classroom exercises and participate in live fire (Required if you live in certain towns) and shoot a semi-auto pistol chambered in 9mm. Take our highly rated course and become qualified to apply for your gun license!
